Getting Started

This section gives important information about the user guide, the intended audience of the user guide and prerequisites of using Tonos.

Intended audience & prerequisites

The user guide is intended towards Tonos users who do not necessarily have a programming background and want to learn how to navigate through the platform. However, users are required to have some things set up before being able to use the platform to its full extent.

In order to start working with Tonos, you need:

  • The necessary credentials for integrating an identity. Regardless, Tonos does have its default identity provider, which is Porta.
  • A GoPay or Stripe account, which are the default payment methods of the platform.
  • A SmartEmailing account, which is the default email provider.

Guide structure

The user guide is designed to be easily navigable. You will continue to the New to Tonos section, where you will learn to set up your organization, application, and the users working on your application. This section also contains the Integrations subsection, where you will learn to set up your identity, email, and payment providers.

The next step is to create a campaign, which in itself contains offers that are made up of subscription plans, forms, and/or license request forms. This guide provides you with steps on setting up each and every segment of a campaign.

The last two sections, the Customer Management and View Analytics are for managing and receiving data about your application and customers.

// Visual representation of the user guide

Although this is the way the user guide is set up, the sections in this documentation can be grouped in other ways to. For example, they can be grouped by the type of data they contain: data used by the organization, and data used by the application. The Integrations, Applications, Users, and Customer management sections belong to the organization group, while the Products, Subscription Plans, Offers, Page Targeting, Campaigns, Checkout Flows, and Audiences belong to the application group.
